Fine Gael has cancelled a photocall scheduled for today to celebrate its first year in government after criticism from the Labour Party.

Fine Gael has cancelled a photocall scheduled for today to celebrate its first year in government after criticism from the Labour Party.

On Morning Ireland, Labour Minister Pat Rabbitte called the event "silly".

"It was presumed that the Labour Party would be planning an event, similar to the one scheduled by Fine Gael, to mark the Party’s first year in Government," Fine Gael said in a statement.
