Fine Gael calls for removal of port company

The board of the Shannon Foynes Port Company (SFPC), which runs the second-largest port in the country, should be removed for refusing to answer politicians’ questions about the company’s accounts, according to Fine Gael’s transport spokesman.

The board of the Shannon Foynes Port Company (SFPC), which runs the second-largest port in the country, should be removed for refusing to answer politicians’ questions about the company’s accounts, according to Fine Gael’s transport spokesman.

The chief executive, chairwoman and a director of SFPC appeared before the Oireachtas Committee on Transport recently, but would not answer questions about its accounts.
