Two new films from cult directors open this weekend; and by 'cult', I mean that the filmmakers themselves, not just their films, have become cinematic fetish idols. Sofia Coppola and Ben Wheatley operate at opposing ends of the spectrum. One is the scion of Hollywood royalty, the other a regular English bloke. One makes studiously offhand films about gilded youth, while the other creates troubling black comedies from the humdrum of suburban British life.
