Fiat Auto getting back on track with new Croma

Fiat Auto's first half results for 2005 show that the company is well on track towards recovery and meeting its loss reduction targeted for this year.

The results' highlights are a trading profit doubled to €360 million, from €181 million last year, as well as a net income of €217 million.

The latter is an improvement of €463 million, reversing a loss of €246 million last time. The Fiat Croma has been well received on mainland Europe - it goes on sale here in November - and it is expected to total 600,000 sales in 2006.
