After a long summer break, members of the Fianna Fail parliamentary party will meet in Westport, Co Mayo, to assess its standing in the public eye.

But it’s a Dail term report that might well read ‘‘could do better’’.

The party will gather tomorrow and on Tuesday after opinion polls during the summer showed that it had consistently less support than it had in all previous general elections.
