With five days to go before polling in the general election, Ireland is on the cusp of a historic change. Fine Gael is set not just to win the election, but to rout its opponents.

Today’s final tracking poll of the campaign shows that its support is twice as large as either of its chief opponents, and more than Fianna Fáil, Labour and the Green Party combined.
