Former minister Michael Noonan is expected to be named as Fine Gael’s finance spokesman when party leader Enda Kenny names his front bench this week.

Former minister Michael Noonan is expected to be named as Fine Gael’s finance spokesman when party leader Enda Kenny names his front bench this week.

However, the Sunday Business Post has learned that Noonan was central to a number of informal meetings in recent months which discussed the possibility of a change of leader in Fine Gael.

The meetings frequently took place in Leinster House or in Buswells Hotel, close to the Dáil....
