Independent presidential candidate Sean Gallagher was asked to resign from the top decision-making body of Fianna Fáil last summer, over his failure to fulfil his duties as the elected delegate from the Louth constituency.

Independent presidential candidate Sean Gallagher was asked to resign from the top decision-making body of Fianna Fáil last summer, over his failure to fulfil his duties as the elected delegate from the Louth constituency.

An official complaint was lodged to party headquarters about Gallagher by the constituency body, the Comhairle Dáil Ceanntair (CDC), which sought details of the mechanism for removing him as their delegate.
