Fianna Fáil has lost one of its seats in Co Clare, and could yet lose the second.

Fine Gael, however, received a huge surge in support, securing the party at least two seats in the constituency.

Sitting Fine Gael TDs Pat Breen and Joe Carey have taken more than 30 per cent of the vote between them, with Shannon candidate Tony Mulcahy bringing them to a solid 42.3 per cent.
