Fewer ghost estate homes exempted from property tax

The exemptions are far more restricted than those allowed for the Household Charge, when 1,322 developments, and approximately 43,000 households, were given waivers.

5,100 ghost estate homes exempted

Most of the so-called ghost estate homes that qualified for a waiver to the annual household charge will not be exempted from the property tax, it emerged today.

The waiver from payment of the property tax will apply to just 421 developments, or approximately 5,100 households.

For the Household Charge, 1,322 developments and approximately 43,000 households were given waivers.
