February: Arup engineers €3m hospital build

Engineering firm Arup Ireland celebrated a €3 million contract with the developers behind a €500 million hospital in Austria.

Engineering firm **Arup Ireland** celebrated a €3 million contract with the developers behind a €500 million hospital in Austria. Under the terms of the deal with the Vienna Health Authority, Arup agreed to work with local partner Frohlich & Locher on the construction of the hospital in the district of Floridsdorf, east of the Danube. Due for completion in 2016, Vienna North Hospital will have capacity for 40,000 hospital admissions, 250,000 outpatient visits and 16,000 surgical procedures annually.
