The €102 million dormant accounts fund is in danger of being used as a ministerial constituency 'slush fund' if urgent steps are not taken to protect its independence, a TD has warned.

The dormant accounts fund board is to be disbanded in legislation now passing through Oireachtas as part of the government's policy to cut state quangos.
