Fears over excessive policing of banks

The government is in danger of policing banks to such an extent that corporate lending will be stifled, the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers (IACT) has claimed.

The government is in danger of policing banks to such an extent that corporate lending will be stifled, the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers (IACT) has claimed.

John Finn, president of the association which held its annual dinner on Friday night, said that there was no sign of lending to Irish business loosening up since the government intervention to protect Irish banks.
