An auction room in Dublin's antiques quarter is a treasure trove of intoxicating gems at more affordable prices, writes Lisa Brady.

An auction house may not seem the first port of call for fashionistas with an eye for everything that glitters, but on Francis Street in the antiques quarter of Dublin, O'Reilly's auction room is attracting its fair share of the city's magpies.

"Every month, we see more and more new faces; there are a lot of young people coming through the doors," says Natasha Sherling, a fine jewellery adviser and a gemologist with O'Reilly's.
