Fans shouting for Oxegen

Tickets are still on sale for next weekend’s Oxegen festival at Punchestown but festival organisers are hoping that it will be a sell-out – and that the sunny weather continues, writes Nicola Cooke.

More than 4,000 workers will be on site by Friday to ensure that the festival, which has already been 10months in planning, will run smoothly. Up to 80,000 people are expected to travel for the event, which will include massive international acts such as Eminem, Muse, Jay Z, Arcade Fire and Black Eyed Peas.

Oxegen, which has been voted Europe’s Best Festival for the past two years, will have five stages and a dance arena. Other acts...
