Bookings for corporate Christmas parties are up on last year, but companies are continuing to reduce the amount they are willing to spend on them.

Michelle Thornton, managing director of event management firm Hotel Solutions, said that while party bookings were up 45 per cent on last year, the average spend per client was down by 26 per cent.
