Millions of euro in tourism grants were paid out without any assessment of project costs, according to a confidential internal report into a €130 million capital investment programme administered by Fáilte Ireland.
The internal review of Fáilte Ireland's tourism capital investment programme (TCIP) found that there was "no process whereby - as part of the evaluation process - project costs were independently reviewed for reasonableness by a qualified professional".
