FAI says O'Neill to be appointed new Ireland manager

UPDATE: Martin O'Neill is set to be appointed as the new Ireland soccer manager, with Roy Keane as his assistant.

Derry native Martin O'Neill is set to be appointed as the new Ireland soccer manager, with Roy Keane as his assistant.

FAI Chief Executive John Delaney confirmed the appointments had been agreed on Newstalk's Pat Kenny show. Documents have yet to be signed, he said.

"I don't see any impediment to Martin O'Neill being our manager," he said.
