Facebook, operator of the world’s most popular social-networking website, said its next 1 billion users will be added “mainly” on mobile devices rather than desktop computers.

“By providing this opportunity on mobile devices, we can make the pie bigger much more quickly,” Vaughan Smith, Facebook’s director of corporate development, said at the GSMA Mobile Asia Congress in Hong Kong today.
