Criminals have turned Facebook into the web's biggest distributor of malware, according to Urban Schrott, communications manager with Eset Ireland.

Criminals have turned Facebook into the web's biggest distributor of malware, according to Urban Schrott, communications manager with Eset Ireland.

He said hackers on the site were using social engineering techniques previously seen in e-mails to dupe unsuspecting users into dangerous traps.

“Your Facebook password has become a valuable thing to the bad guys,” said Schrott.
