A ‘lost’ unfinished nude by Francis Bacon, discovered on the reverse of two paintings by Tony O’Malley, is expected to fetch £20,000-£30,000 at Christie’s this month. Bacon began work on Figure in St Ives in 1959. After an argument with his partner, he cut short his stay, abandoning many works in progress. Clearing out the studio, his landlord’s wife distributed them among Bacon’s artist friends....
