Exports: Hong Kong provides much more than just access to China

Hong Kong is a market with huge potential for Irish firms, writes Nicola Cooke.

Hong Kong is a market with huge potential for Irish firms. Last year, the total value of imports to this semi-autonomous region of China surged above the $500 billion mark, with Irish exports into the region at $1 billion.

Trade representatives from Hong Kong recently travelled to Ireland on a visit organised by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and the Ireland Hong Kong Business Forum, where they met Minister for Trade and Development, Joe Costello.
