An American technology firm valued at $3.5 billion is investing in an expansion in Ireland having bought a Cork-based software maker.

An American technology firm valued at $3.5 billion is investing in an expansion in Ireland having bought a Cork-based software maker.

Trimble Navigation is understood to have paid a low seven figure sum for LeT Systems, which has 20 staff at the National Software Centre in Mahon.

Trimble is based in California and listed on the Nasdaq. It had revenues of $1.1 billion last year.
