Self-employed told to pay up or face immediate tax demands

The Revenue plans to seek tax payments from hundreds of self-employed contractors in the coming weeks, as part of a serious escalation of its €100 million investigation into the tax tactics of contractors.

Letters will be dispatched in the coming days by the tax authority to contractors caught up in the probe, stating that it intends to raise assessments within ten days until they make an immediate settlement.
