Examiner turns down Eircom acquisition offer

An offer to buy Eircom was turned down by examiner Michael McAteer of Grant Thornton as Eircom sees revenue and earnings fall.

Eircom posted an operating loss of €2.856 billion as a result of two non-cash charges to its accounts.

An offer to buy Eircom was turned down by examiner Michael McAteer of Grant Thornton, the telecoms company said in a statement.
