The High Court last week approved the appointment of an examiner to The Farm Media Group. The company owes its creditors €5.4 million, but is now protected from its creditors for 70 days.

During that time, the examiner Neil Hughes will try to draft a rescue plan.

Dublin media company Piranha Fish was rumoured to be a potential investor, but said it had decided not to invest in The Farm.
