John Delaney's new deal sees him receive €1.8 million over six years.

“I’ve been offered salaries above what I’m paid,” said John Delaney last week – but he’s turned them down to stay as chief executive of the FAI.

He was defending himself (again) in the face of the predictable outrage over the football association’s announcement that he would pocket €1.8 million over the course of his new contract, which takes him up to 2020.
