Ex-NIB manager ordered to produce documents to ODCE
Former National Irish Bank regional manager Tom McMenamin has been ordered to produce documents to the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE) by the end of this month, in relation to the ODCE’s investigation of tax evasion at the bank
The Director of Corporate Enforcement, Paul Appleby, last year brought High Court proceedings seeking the disqualification as directors of nine NIB officials who were criticised by two High Court-appointed inspectors in their July 2004 report.
The inspectors said that improper practices by senior management in NIB and NIB Financial Services had enabled customers to evade tax. Appleby made an unsuccessful application earlier this year to obtain documents from Mr Justice Blayney and Tom Grace, the inspectors...
