Eurozone finance ministers have approved payment of the next tranche of €8bn to Greece under the EU/IMF rescue programme.

Eurozone finance ministers have approved payment of the next tranche of €8bn to Greece under the European Union/International Monetary Fund rescue programme.

The payment has yet to be ratified by the IMF.

The aid is crucial for debt-stricken Greece, which faced running out of money to pay civil servants and pensions in mid-November.
