European investor confidence dropped to its lowest level in almost three years in May as the region's debt crisis intensified, a German-based research institute said.

European investor confidence dropped to its lowest level in almost three years in May as the region's debt crisis intensified, a German-based research institute said.

Sentix surveyed 867 investors between May 3rd and May 5th. Its index, which measures sentiment in the euro-area economy, fell to minus 24.5 from minus 14.7 in April, the lowest level recorded since July 2009.
