Eurobarometer: Irish happy within European Union

According to the latest Eurobarometer survey, Irish citizens generally feel that the country is better off within the EU.

Ireland ranks ninth in terms of support for the EU

Compared to other European Union countries in receipt of EU/IMF financial assistance - including Spain, Portugal and Greece - Irish perceptions of the state of the economy are more positive.

The latest Eurobarometer survey, carried out in November as the country was due to exit the bailout, gives an insight into Irish public opinion towards the economy and the EU.
