Euro zone inflation falls to 2.6% in April

Inflation in the 17 countries that use the euro fell to an annual 2.6 per cent in April, the EU's statistics office, Eurostat, said.

Inflation in the 17 countries that use the euro fell to an annual 2.6 per cent in April, the EU's statistics office, Eurostat, said.

This was down from 2.7 per cent in March but higher than the 2.5 per cent expected by market analysts. The rate also remains above the European Central Bank's goal of just under 2 per cent.
