Euro zone economic confidence slides in May

Economic confidence in the 17-nation euro zone has fallen to its lowest level in two-and-a-half years with business and industry primarily responsible for the decline, new figures showed.

Economic confidence in the 17-nation euro zone has fallen to its lowest level in two-and-a-half years with business and industry primarily responsible for the decline, new figures showed.

The European Commission said that its economic sentiment indicator for the 17 countries that use the euro fell by 2.3 points in May to 90.6, a bigger fall than expected.
