European fisheries ministers have struck a deal on fish quotas after all night talks in Brussels.

Ireland's white fish quota will increase in value by 1 per cent next year although the quota itself will go down 2 per cent compared to this year, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Simon Coveney said.

Ireland did "very well" at the fish quota negotiations and presented a strong case based on science to improve quotas, the Minister said.
