EU construction production falls in May

Production in the European Union construction sector fell by 1.5 per cent in May, Eurostat figures showed today.

Production in the European Union construction sector fell by 1.5 per cent in May, Eurostat figures showed today.

Compared annually however, production was up 3.5 per cent in the euro area and up 3.2 per cent in the entire EU area, the statistics agency said.

Month-on-month, German saw the largest decline (4.9 per cent), while the highest increases were recorded in Hungary (2.3 per cent) and Bulgaria (1.7 per cent).
