ESB wins €14 million Tesco contract

ESB Independent Energy (ESBIE) has won a €14 million one-year deal to supply Tesco Ireland.

ESB Independent Energy (ESBIE) has won a €14 million one-year deal to supply Tesco Ireland. Under the terms of the contract, agreed this month, it will supply 150 GWh of renewable and non-renewable electricity to 90 Tesco stores and sites throughout Ireland.

Patrick Eccles, ESBIE supply manager for the Republic of Ireland, said the contract was equivalent to the electricity required to supply 37,500 houses. He said it could potentially save the retailer €1 million in annual...
