ESB strike deal stands despite row over interpretation

The ESB has repeated that it accepts the settlement agreed at the weekend to the pensions dispute while the unions are set to withdraw strike notice documents by lunchtime today.

The ESB has repeated that it accepts the settlement agreed with unions at the weekend to the pensions dispute despite the emergence of differences in the two groups' interpretation of the deal.

Meanwhile, the head of the ESB group of unions, Brendan Ogle, has said strike notice documents issued to ESB will be withdrawn by lunchtime today, and there is no danger of industrial action taking place.
