The ESB has sent a brief letter to the review body assessing the future of semi-state companies, saying that it does not have a view on its ownership, believing it to be a matter for its shareholders, primarily the government.

The ESB has sent a brief letter to the review body assessing the future of semi-state companies, saying that it does not have a view on its ownership, believing it to be a matter for its shareholders, primarily the government.

This follows comments by energy minister Eamon Ryan, who has responsibility for the electricity supply board. Ryan said he did not agree with the sale of state assets which were delivering.
