ESB keen to join nuclear market with European company

The ESB would be interested in entering the nuclear power market by joining forces with a European energy company, according to the company’s chairman, Tadhg O’Donoghue.

The power company chairman told The Sunday Business Post that the ESB was interested in all opportunities to invest in the power generation market, and that this included nuclear power.

‘‘We would participate in one, I think, because the actual capital investment could be beyond us,” he said. ‘‘Once there is an opportunity to produce electricity in a legal manner, we’re interested.
