ESB’s landmark €22 billion investment programme aims to halve its carbon emissions in 12 years, putting the company on track to be a European market leader in the sector.

The company chief executive Padraig McManus noted last week that the big ticket item of its investment plan is to achieve a ‘net zero’ carbon emissions by 2035 through a combination of gas, clean coal and renewable technology.
