Equality Authority budget will be cut by 8%

The annual budget of the Equality Authority is to be cut by 8 per cent as part of the government’s move to reduce its spending.

The annual budget of the Equality Authority is to be cut by 8 per cent as part of the government’s move to reduce its spending.

It is understood that the authority’s budget of €5 million is being cut by €400,000. Senior officials at the Department of Justice, which has responsibility for the Equality Authority, informed the authority of the decision last Friday.
