EPA to recruit an extra 50 staff

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is recruiting an extra 50 staff, to bring total staff numbers to 340 by the end of the year.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is recruiting an extra 50 staff, to bring total staff numbers to 340 by the end of the year.

The recruitment campaign follows an increase in the agency’s funding in Budget 2008. In his carbon budget, the Minister for the Environment, John Gormley, announced that the agency’s budget for 2008 would rise to €39.2 million from €27.4 million, a 43 per cent increase on 2007.
