Two Irish entrepreneurs have filled a gap left by banks exiting the safety deposit box business, by building the country's first independent private vault in Dublin.

Merrion Private Vaults, the brainchild of diamond specialist Seamus Fahy and media owner David Walsh, will house several thousand safeboxes of varying size at a secure underground location close to Merrion Square in the city centre.
