Enterprise chiefs have cautiously welcomed initiatives announced in the budget

In a budget defined by sharp cuts in state spending, Ireland’s enterprise and job creation budget emerged relatively unscathed.

While capital expenditure for the enterprise agencies was curbed, and funding for a number of training schemes was reined in, much of that money was redirected towards short term job protection programmes and other initiatives.
