Fitness entrepreneur Jackie Skelly is to lose control of the gym chain she founded 17 years ago.

A British company, Energie Group, has been selected as the preferred bidder to buy her Jackie Skelly Fitness out of examinership following a fall-off in business. Skelly and her long-time business partner, Mark Tooke, also bid to rescue the gym business, but the examiner, Kieran Wallace of KPMG, has started exclusive talks with Energie.
