Investigators from the Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) in Britain were last week raiding properties and businesses around Manchester as part of a coordinated effort to track down IRA funds.

The money involved is formidable. Already it easily surpasses the record-breaking haul the IRA snatched in the Northern Bank robbery last year.
