Recession hit the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and MacWorld last week, as attendance numbers for the two US-based convent ions and new product launches dwindled in comparison to 2008.

Normally the highlight of the year, CES failed to provide any seminal new products, as big manufacturers scaled down their sales expectations for 2009.

The main products to emerge from the show were adaptations of existing products, including touchscreen laptops, smart phones, MP3 players, slimmer digital televisions...
