Electric Ireland raises electricity, gas prices

Electric Ireland is to raise its electricity prices by 5.9 per cent and its natural gas prices by 8.5 per cent, according to a statement from the company.

Electric Ireland is to raise its electricity prices by 5.9 per cent and its natural gas prices by 8.5 per cent, according to a statement from the company.

The price rises will take effect in October.

The company claims that the price hike will result in an average increase of €1.22 per week on the average residential electricity bill.
