Elections 2014 RDS: Andrews and SF triumph as Quinn despondent

Minister for Education Ruairí Quinn gave his full support to Labour party leader Eamon Gilmore at the Dublin City Council elections count centre yesterday, but admitted that “the whole party is under pressure”.

Sinn Féin’s Dáithí Doolan was the first councillor elected to Dublin City Council on Saturday, topping the poll in Ballyfermot-Drimnagh, with several of his colleagues close behind him.
