Eircom has said it has yet to begin formal negotiations with its shareholders and bondholders on the need to restructure the company’s debt.

Eircom has said it has yet to begin formal negotiations with its shareholders and bondholders on the need to restructure the company’s debt.

Chief executive Paul Donovan said preliminary discussions took place in recent weeks, but formal negotiations were not expected to start before the height of the summer holiday period.

Donovan was speaking after the group published its third quarter results last Friday.
